Oldham et al. vs Georgia Gulf Corporation, et al
This case involves the claim by several thousand workers at the Georgia Gulf facility near Plaquemine, Louisiana for the ingestion of arsenic from the drinking water at the plant. The contamination of the Plaquemine aquifer is alleged to have occurred some time around 1995 and was discovered in 2001 by state officials. It is believed that the contamination is as a result of the deep well disposal of waste chemicals by Hercules, Inc. and others. The litigation has settled for $2.7 million with all defendants except Georgia Gulf Corporation. The case will continue against Georgia Gulf.
